Week Three – Oh the things I’m learning (my parents too!)…
Before heading to Savannah for Aunt Cindy’s wedding, this week was filled with more visits from friends meeting me for the first time and helping out with dinners- many thanks to Rachel, Nicole, Charlotte, Travis, Mike, Dan, Missy, Mike, Bethanie, and of course, Obi for all of your help through the week. Some of my highlights from week 3:
- My pirate eye: I have this way of just opening one eye sometimes and it definitely makes my Mom and Dad laugh. It’s like I’m fooling them that I’m halfway asleep:)
- The Enchanted Forest: That’s what Dad has nicknamed our backyard. I love going outside and looking at the trees, hearing the sounds of the birds, and taking in the brightness. Cady enjoys being outside with me too.
- My smiles and chuckles: My facial expressions while I’m sleeping totally melt my Mom’s heart.
- “Chunky Monkey”: That’s the nickname that Dad gave me. It could be from my Swaddle Me blanket that has monkeys all over it, or it could be because of my big round belly after feeding…
- My first bottle: Since we are headed to Savannah for the wedding and I’ll be staying with Obi while Mom and Dad are out celebrating, we needed to give the bottle some practice. In my true “chunky monkey” way, my parents have nothing to worry about- I’ll drink milk from anything:)
- Bath time: I’m starting to like it too! The key is to put a warm wash cloth on my belly so I don’t get chilly.
- Diaper changes: So, my Mom and Dad have finally learned that the key to a successful diaper change includes a quick switch of the old and new diaper, so they aren’t left with any surprises in their hands. It only took them two weeks to learn this helpful nugget!
- Sleeptime: I enjoy every minute that I can get… whether in my lamb seat, my bassinet, in the car, in the rocking chair outside, in someone’s arms, or when I snuggle with Mom and Dad in the mornings, I love my sleep!
