week35

Our baby girl is the size of a honeydew melon this week and measures about 18 inches long and 5.25 pounds. It’s pretty funny to watch her move around in my belly as she is starting to run out of room and at times, it looks like an alien has taken over my stomach as it changes shape. She remains quite active, and now that we are in the last weeks, I think we’re all just getting excited to meet one another.

This past weekend was relaxing and the spring weather in Atlanta was beautiful. I think Marshall and I are treasuring these last weekends of sleeping in and just being together with one another. I’m headed back to the doctor on Tuesday for my next appointment, and then I’ll be going weekly until our baby gets here. I’m still feeling great, but I will admit that the swelling in my legs is getting pretty bad. I shared at the creation of this blog that I would spare my family and friends any odd details of my pregnancy, so I am sparing you all from seeing my cankles- they even scare me! Hoping that my doctor can give me some good advice this week on how to help with the swelling.

I plan to post some nursery photos once we get everything organized. In the meantime, a couple of new projects to share: Marshall built a chalkboard for the entry of the nursery. We thought this would help us keep up with our baby girl’s feeding and sleep schedule once she arrives, and other than that, I guess we’ll just be great at teaching our baby how to write on walls:) In addition, we are working on filling the gallery wall of frames just above our crib. Marshall’s painting will be there, and then we’re going to use the other frames that surround it for some of our favorite quotes to share with our baby girl:

- Love Out Loud (the same quote that is inscribed in my wedding band)
- Today I’m going to be happier than a bird with a french fry
- You make me happy when skies are grey
- Dream Big

Marshall is designing prints for each of the quotes, and once we have them all together, I’ll post some new pics! It’s hard to believe that it really is all coming together for our baby girl. Looking forward to every minute of it!

Cousin Jill sent a bunny for our Baby Girl, and was sweet enough to include a doggie version for Cady!
