the funk

So, this past weekend wasn’t too much fun. I got sick on Friday night, and it progressed through the weekend to the point where I had to make a trip to the CVS Minute Clinic on Sunday. If you have ever had any hesitation about using those places, I’ve always had a good experience and would recommend it as alternative to getting treated after hours.

Two pieces of advice to make it a good visit if you ever go:

1) Get there about 30 minutes before it opens to sign in at the kiosk and get your name on the waiting list. Those little places draw a crowd, and when I showed up 10 minutes before opening on Sunday morning, I was already 4th in line.
2) Lots of antibacterial soap. If you’re not already sick before you get there, you’re sure to be before you leave without the stuff. You hang out in a small little corner with other sicklings who sound just as pathetic as you.

Overall, the nurse practioners are very friendly and knowledgeable. Luckily, I didn’t have strep or the flu, but I’m still been feeling a bit lousy. This is how I’ve been spending the past few days…..pajama pants, cozy socks, lots and lots of tea and honey, and as a result, I’ve gone from no voice to one of those “made for night radio” voices. As for Marshall and ZoĆ«, they enjoyed the daddy/daughter weekend:)

Hope you have had a good week….
