Happy New Year!
This time last year, I was about six months pregnant when Marshall and I were considering New Year’s Eve plans. We were looking for something low key, yet fun. We invited some of our neighborhood friends over to ring in the New Year- some who were also pregnant or had babies of their own and were looking for something similar. This year, we hosted our second annual New Year’s Eve dinner and in true Marshall fashion, he drove to the state line to pick up fireworks for the occasion. We had a great night with our friends, enjoyed watching some college football, and toasted in the New Year under some of the best fireworks in Atlanta (where we were also extremely grateful that nothing caught fire in the process)!
As for this year in review, I don’t think I have the words to sum up how life-changing this year has been. I started this blog to document photos of Zoë to share with my out-of-town family and friends and to share with Zoë when she gets older. What I didn’t realize is that this outlet has also enabled me to capture, journal and reflect on so many moments that I have treasured in my life as a mom and a wife. I have learned a lot about myself this year- what I am capable of, how much a little baby depends on me, lots that I still want and need to learn, how I can determine my own happiness, how a furry friend can make me re-think my days, and how much I love being married to Marshall and a mom to Zoë.
Here’s to my friends and family…a new year filled with good health, strength when you need it, and laughter and happiness the whole year through! Thanks for all that you do for our little family. Love, Lori
