Since I’ve been on maternity leave, I’ve stayed in touch with some of my students and colleagues via email, but this week was a special time for me to re-connect with so many of them in person. This week was Atlanta International School’s graduation ceremony for the Class of 2012. It is truly a unique event where younger students start the ceremony with a processional of flags from all over the world- each flag representing a senior and their affiliation to a country of heritage or importance to them. Before the ceremony, I was able to catch up with my students (and also keep my tall boys quiet at the end of the graduation procession line), all of whom were so sweet in asking about Zoë and how she was doing. I look forward to bringing Zoë by school in the fall so that my kids can meet her!  A special, special thanks to Sandy and Nicole for taking care of my families while I was away and enjoying time as a new mom.

Some other highlights of the week included a visit and dinner from our friend, Katherine, who had just returned from the Galapagos to meet Zoë. Also, this was the first week that Zoë napped in her crib- she’s still sleeping in a bassinet in our room at night and generally naps in her lamb seat in the family room during the day, but we are trying to get her accustomed to her crib so that when we’re ready to transition her to the downstairs nursery, she’ll be all set!

I can’t believe…. 6 weeks already!
