Me with Aunt Kim and Aunt Cindy

At just over three weeks old, we took our first family road trip to Savannah for My Aunt Cindy’s wedding. The car was packed with what seemed like ALL of my belongings for our first trip together. Our drive down seemed to be going so smoothly until we were about 50 miles outside of Savannah and traffic came to a stop. There was an overturned tractor trailer that blocked all lanes headed east on I-16, and just as the cars stopped, my cries and hunger definitely started. It was quite humorous to be pulled over on the side of the road so that my Mom could feed me (trying to hide from all of the truckers) and that my Dad could change my diaper in the driver’s seat. My parents probably didn’t think it was so humorous at the time:) We were so happy to arrive in Savannah for the Rehearsal and also with enough time for me to meet my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandpa, and great grandmother before the fesivities began. Since I’m still so small, my Obi came down from Hilton Head to stay with me while my Mom and Dad got to enjoy the wedding. As you can see by the pictures below, the location at my aunt’s house and the weather was perfect, the ceremony was genuine and beautiful, my Aunt Cindy was a stunning bride, and everyone had fun at the reception with everything from cornhole, to drinks and music, to all different kinds of cakes made by members of our family. Congratulations to Cindy and Davis- we are so happy for you!

Back in Atlanta, Dad headed back to work on Monday and Mom is hanging out with me and Cady. Mom even ventured to the vet this morning and I could tell that she was a little proud of herself to master my car seat, stroller, dog leash, and me and Cady all at once and all by herself- it’s the small things! We’re still being spoiled by friends and family and want to thank Amy, Charlotte, Leigh, Sara and Ryan for their help this week. It makes waking up after a long night so much easier for my parents when they have such great friends looking out for them. I’m even venturing out with Mom a couple of days to have lunch with her and her friends. I have my one month doctor’s appointment coming up at the end of this week- I’ll keep you posted on all of those updates as I know I’m growing so big. In fact, Mom tried one of my newborn onesies on me this morning, and it was already too small. I’m definitely more alert these days and impressing my Mom and Dad with my growing ability to hold onto things like toys on my playmat or my wubbanub. Everyone warned my parents that time flies, and I agree. I’m making each and every day special for them!
