race for the cure
While we were in Savannah a couple of weeks ago, we walked in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure- Zoë’s and my mom’s first 5k! My cousin, Jill, is a breast cancer survivor and we were all thrilled to come together to honor her and walk as a team of her friends and family. My cousin is an amazing woman with a brilliant sense of humor, and loves her family so much. Her strength and grace through this past year is so inspiring to all of us! She was also pretty awesome to let her friends and family put this together for her- she’s not one to like a lot of fuss or attention, so if anything, she humored us while we all adorned t-shirts in her honor:)
As for the race, the route took us through all of the neat parts of downtown Savannah, including my old high school, St. Vincent’s Academy. What some people may not know is that Marshall’s mom and grandmother also attended St. Vincent’s too. Small world! Zoë was a little off of her routine on race morning, but caught a snooze about halfway through the race. Here are some pictures of our morning…
As Beckett said when he saw that last picture of Zoe, “her so happy!”
This is the first time I have heard the coincidental St. Vincents Information. It was complete fate you guys found each other. If wasn’t one way it would have been another!
