Let’s call this post, “the one that will get you caught up with our life in about 1 minute”. The past couple of weeks have been a little crazy with sickness around here. First an ear infection for Zoë, then the cold/flu for Lori, then something that resembled food poisoning for Marshall, and then an allergic reaction to penicillin for Zoë. Needless to say, it’s been interesting. I caught some pictures along the way, but probably more importantly to share: at this very moment, I’m happy to report that our house is functioning at 100% (including Cady!).

To catch you up…

The Young’s treated us to a night out. We had a wonderful dinner at JCT, and it was so great to enjoy some adult time. Harper and Zoë enjoyed a quiet night at our home with Harper’s nanny.

The next morning, Zoë’s body was covered in hives. She was so very uncomfortable and sad. We made our way back to the doctor for the third time in five days. The doctor said that she was having an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin that she was prescribed for her ear infection. Luckily, her ear infection had almost cleared itself, so we were just left to treat her reaction and cautioned not to give her any penicillin in the future. I hear it’s a pretty common allergy for babies, so I’m happy that we caught it early and that the reaction wasn’t more serious.

Back at home, not even the swing could make Zoë smile….

Staying at home with a sick baby all day and night can make you resort to the oddest forms of entertainment. Here’s a glimpse at the competition that Marshall and I had with Zoë’s nesting toys. Marshall won with five!

We escaped the house to have lunch at Zoë’s favorite restaurant!

Finally starting to feel better, here’s Zoë playing with her elephant toy…also known as the loudest toy on the market.

Cady was ready to play too!

Zoë practicing her newest trick of waving…..

All better now. Time to do some housework! Zoë loves to unload the silverware basket of the dishwasher. Maybe we can get her as interested in the laundry one of these days. Glad you’re feeling better, Zo Zo!
