tug of war…

I’m sure it’s pretty obvious by all the photos that I post on the blog: Zoë and Cady are the best of buds! One morning in the nursery, they had a good game of tug of war going with Cady’s toy. Cady definitely won out, but Zoë didn’t really care. She was squealing, laughing and smiling the whole time. I’m so happy that Zoë is growing up around Cady. As crazy as it may sound, it’s almost like Zoë is learning how to share through Cady. Whether it is food or toys, she knows that some belong to her and some belong to Cady. It’s a good lesson to learn early on, especially since Zoë doesn’t have any siblings. As for sharing, Cady has had her paws on some of Zoë’s toys too- some that we knew about and some that she snuck away to guard as her newest chew toy, only to be found after it’s a little too late:)

As for a Cady update, many of you have asked how she is doing….so far, so good. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain, and anytime something odd happens, I jump on google and search for that symptom and if it has any relation to her diagnosis. Sometimes my search ends up scary (but so is life with the internet sometimes- I remember Marshall encouraging me to stay off the baby blogs when I was pregnant- the ones that set off alarm bells for every little symptom); but other times, I’m put at ease that it’s just a normal dog habit. Either way, I’m not shy to make calls to our vet to ask if it is something to be worried about. Just last week she was acting weird and had a bit of a stomachache, which seems to have been caused by the volume of extra food she is taking in from Zoë dropping stuff from her high chair. The vet gave her medicine for pancreatitis and luckily she seems to have recovered quickly. Cady is a tenacious little dog, and we are loving and treasuring our bonus days!

Note: Please excuse the very mismatched clothes in the pictures. Laundry sometimes seems to get behind once you have a baby, so Zoë slept in a hodge-podge combo of a onesie and pants the night before these photos. Hello, stripes!

  1. It does not get any better or cuter than this!!! How very sweet!

  2. Mismatched clothes? Oh no! I’m reporting these parents to the fashion police! :)
