6months

We went for Zoë ’s six month doctor’s appointment this past week. Measuring in at 15 pounds, 6 ounces, and 26” tall, we’re so thankful she’s happy, healthy and growing. This was a visit that came with 4 shots…I didn’t cry this time. She definitely did! As always, we had our book of questions for the doctor, and it was reassuring to hear Dr. Fleming say goodbye to us and on the way out share that we’re doing a good job. “We’re doing a good job”…..those words for some reason, were just so comforting to hear. No, we are not award-winning parents, but we’re doing the best we can and loving and learning every day. It’s a responsibility that we take so seriously, yet laugh and enjoy so much.

This month, Zoë is…

  • Eating peas, carrots and squash
  • Hating zucchini (and apparently acorn squash too since we tried to put her amoxicillin in it, and totally ruined that vegetable for her FOREVER)
  • Sitting up in her whale bathtub
  • Chewing on tags of her toys….a habit that she must have learned from Cady
  • Rolling everywhere
  • Laughing….laughing….laughing….and laughing some more!
  • Sitting up for minutes at a time, before toppling over (a few times sadly face-planting into her toys)
  • Becoming a professional at putting her wubbanub into her mouth
  • Loving being outside in her swing
  • Moving to all-formula bottles during the day
  • Hating her carseat
  • Loving the exersaucer (Bethanie, can’t thank you enough for this little circle of heaven)
  • Enjoying her Baby Einstein music box that plays everything from harp to piano to a full-on orchestra
  • Playing with her cool toys, but still coming back to my iphone case and my watch every time as her favorite toys
  • Pretending to surf on her quilt each morning as she lifts her arms and legs off the floor and wiggles around on her tummy

Zoë , we love you….happy ½ birthday, peanut!
