I spent most of my childhood in ponytails. Whether I was at the dance studio, cheer practice, or even at school (note: in the land of St. Vincent’s uniforms, my colored ribbons in my ponytail were about the only things that could offer a bit of originality and still be in dress code on the Catholic school front), you would always find me with a ponytail.

Let’s just say the ponytail has returned. In these past four months, there has rarely been a day that I haven’t been sporting a ponytail. It’s not that I think ponytails are the hottest trend in hair these days, but I will be honest in that if a ponytail allows me 15 more minutes of sleep or 15 more minutes of hanging out with Zoë, sign me up! The newest ponytail perk I have discovered is that Zoë is a lot less likely to end up with a fist full of my hair twisted around her vice-grip fingers as she grabs at everything under the sun these days. Not sure if there are any other moms who have fallen in the ponytail trap, but if so, just know you’re in good company!
