three months…already?

Happy Birthday, sweet Zoë! I seriously don’t know where time has gone. As cliché as it sounds, time has literally flown by. Here we are celebrating three months with you and I don’t know what we did in life before you came along. Here’s a glance at what you are up to these days…

- You’re sleeping through the night! We were putting you to bed at 9pm, and then waking you up for a midnight feeding with Marshall, before letting you sleep until 6 or 7 in the morning. We took the big jump this past week, and instead of waking you up, we thought we would let our luck play out (and your tummy decide) to see how long you would sleep. To our surprise, you slept 9 hours. Unbelievable!

- You love bath time….You like to splash so much, that we’ve had to go a bit more shallow with the water these days so that we (along with our kitchen floor) aren’t soaked and flooded.

- You’re becoming Miss Independent….You like to entertain yourself and spend time on a quilt in your nursery watching the ceiling fan or playing with your toys each morning. You like to grab at things on your playmat and you smile with pride each time you do.

- You love to babble and smile….You are definitely exploring your voice these days, sometimes in a pterodactyl-like fashion. Along with your laugh (which sounds a bit like a fake cough), you just go to town and talk to anybody (Cady included) and anything around.

- You’re liking books…I will say that you didn’t get this trait from me. I’m not much of a reader, but over this past week you’ve been staring at the pictures in your books and listening to our voices as we read.

- You’ve started grabbing things to go into your mouth….whether it’s your fist that often turns into a slobbery mess, your plastic playrings, the oball, your froggie blanket, or even your dress (as you like to play a little flasher), it’s cute to see you discovering so much with your hands.

- Lastly, Zoë, you are an awesome little baby! That’s all there is to it….sorry if I’m a bit biased!
